Links
to some of Josh's favorite web sites
So you would like to know many of
the web sites that I like to frequent? I guess you do, because many
personal web pages has such a feature. Obviously, you would like
to see my personal home page. To tell you the truth, I don't have
a personal home page, because I can't really think of a good reason to
create one of those "me too" home pages. Otherwise that would be
the very first link in this list.
Anyway, here is a list of web sites
that I like to visit:
- Gav
and Peloso Interactive Story This is a one of the better
Interactive Stories sites. Basically you start a story on the first
page where you read the first chapter. At the bottom of the page
is a set of choices. Choosing one of the choices presents another
page with text worth reading and a set of choices on the bottom.
Choosing a choice presents the next page and so on. Most likely you
will eventually reach a page that hasn't yet been written. You then have
the option to write your own next chapter with a set of choices. Feel free
to contribute. Oh, did I mention that I have editor's power
on this site. So I can fix any boo-boo that has been made.
- ZOID
CITY Community and Community Competition This site is a
place where people can create web sites and learn better techniques for enhancing
their web sites. I primarily like getting involved
with Bruno's
Cafe which is yet another interactive story.
- Internet
Park This is a word games site. Mainly they play word games
such as Jumbles which is very similar to Boggle - you try to find as many words on the
board of 23 letters board. Fun to play when you need a chance to relax. I admit that
it is a bit pricy :(
- Popcap This
site contains several different types of addicting games. Most are solo games.
I like to
play Lucky
penny video poker and can be found in the aladdin's room if I am playing.
- Runescape This
is a rather addicting Dungeon and Dragon style multi-player game. You are a character that
has several different skills to develop. Need something to eat so you can heal? Well, you can
catch shrimps (fishing skill), then you can chop down a tree (woodcutting skill),
then start a fire (firemaking skill), then cook the shrimps (cooking skill). And there
is more. Like Mystic Island, you can play for free, or pay to have additional features.
Put JoshBJoshB on your buddy list and say "Hello".
- Where's
George Ever wonder where a dollar bill that you had in your pocket
or purse go? Well, here's your chance to find out. Simply mark one or more bills
with the URL to this site, enter its serial number, denomination and year of issue
and then spend them. If you're lucky, someone might be curious
enough to re-enter the bill into the web site. Oh yeah, here's my
profile
where I brag about the bills that used to be in my wallet.<
