So you are wondering what is involved to become a tournament host?
This is more of a guideline that informs prospective hosts what it takes
to become a TD (Tournament Director). For starters, you will learn how to
do the tasks listed below.
When you accomplish being able to do the above and if you are willing, you
can learn how to do any or all of the tasks listed below. You will be given
as much time as needed to accomplish what you would like to do.
When you have mastered how to compute musical chairs scores, you will be
given an opportunity to run your own weekly tournament slot. I have ideas
what can be done using musical chairs format, but you are welcome to come up with
your own format. Possible formats are listed below.
Active TDs are expected to run one slot per week. Active TDs are encouraged,
but not required to fill in for TDs who cannot make their regular slots.
If you would like to own more than one slot per week, this can be arranged.
If you are still interested in becoming a tournament host, please e-mail
Josh at MusicalChairs@manidae.org. I would be more than happy to make arrangements
for you to host your own tournaments. Keep in mind that all tournament hosts
are expected to comply with TD guidelines. Also, you must have
played at Mystic Island for at least two months before you can host. And
LdyIce makes the final decision as to who can become a host and who can't.
